Return to Work Programs (NSW)

Course Overview

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) requires that every employer in New South Wales implement a return to work (RTW) program that establishes how work-related injuries and illnesses will be handled and how the employer will support affected employees.

This module has been created to help employers meet their legal responsibilities regarding RTW programs and understand how they work.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of this course, learners should be able to:

• Explain the guidelines for workplace RTW programs
• Describe how injured workers returning to work will be supported
• Develop an RTW program that promotes worker recovery
• Promote effective worker recovery through consultation with workers and/or unions
• Finalise an RTW program and arrange for its implementation
